087 Father’s Day

My sister and I went to visit our dad’s grave on Sunday. It was the last day of Sunday school and our kids kindly wrote Alice and I a huge thank you card and got us each a bouquet of flowers. This is the second time that I received a bouquet of flowers on the day I was going to the cemetery. By chance through other people’s generosity, my dad got two bouquets of flowers twice in a row–lucky man! The flowers I received mixed in with the bouquet mom bought made for a perfect arrangement.

Coincidence? Probably. OR dad or God is trying to tell me that it’s okay to be sad but that it’s even better to rejoice and discover joy in what’s right in front of me. Can’t fool me, I’m so smart. So to celebrate fathers everywhere, we hosted a small dinner at home and grubbed on some serious finger food–Brazilian pastel (pictured below) and esfiha. NOM. I really do find too much joy in food…
