For me, both lipstick and lip gloss are absolute daily essentials. Of course, neither at the same time. For the most part, I use a shiny, fruity gloss which I always carry inside my purse and even sometimes in my pockets when I don’t have a purse. Now, while I use lip gloss most of the time, lip sticks are my darlings when I dress up for occasions or when anything that borders above casual.
Some girls use one or the other exclusively and the never ending debate lives on: should I go with lipstick or lip gloss?
Lip gloss gives more volume to your lips and leaves a fresher shimmer. It also usually smells much better and is so much easier to apply. There are a couple of major downsides like the fact that it’s sometimes quite messy when your in a rush. Also, you don’t get that wow effect since the colors are usually less striking with lighter tones. Another thing is that it does not stay on as long and you’ll find yourself retouching every now and then.
On to lipstick. While lipstick does not carry the flair and glimmer of lip gloss, it does carry it self more and adds to a sense of glamour and sophistication that lip gloss simply cannot provide. The right lipstick can impart a certain presence to your appearance (think crimson lipstick on Angelina Jolie). The colors of lipstick are more striking and also last longer and don’t fade as much. If you want to make an impression, that’s one thing lipstick can provide that won’t be as easy with lip gloss.f re-applying lip gloss every so often.Read More
